Default alliance or conflict between jamat-ulama-islam (JUI) and Jamat Islami (JI)?
I have received news from my relatives in my home town of pakistan (Pullandri, Azad Kashmir) that Maulana Saeed (son of maulana yusuf khan rahmatullah alayh) was narrowly defeated in the recent kashmir elections by the candidate of the Muslim league party.

what saddened me even more was that Jamat Islami supported the muslim League candidate rather than their Islamic brother.

why are pakistani islamic parties unable to unite? is the picture the same outside of kashmir?
why are jamat islami prepared to ally with a secular party rather than their natural islamic allies?
is pakistani politics too corrupt and inept that positive change cannot happen from within?
