Assalamu Alaykum Ikhwani,

How are newbies like us supposed to solve something that has been debated amongst the scholars for centuries ? Almost like discussing which mathab is better (ie hanafi, shaafi, etc). Perhaps it would be sensible to say both views are valid and should be respected. It would be safest to follow one's teacher, provided he/she is fully qualified and links back through a chain to our Beloved (peace and blessings be upon him)....
