Sis,

There is a certain Shaykh that I had a private discussion with and I showed him the opinions of his own teachers which are at odds with his behavior.

Shaykhs are real people as well but they should lead the way in curbing desires and not succumbing to commercial'ism.
Did your discussion help? I never feel as though I am in any position to tell most people things like that.

I agree that people like Shaykh's should lead the way in curbing desires. That is why I wish I had not seen the sports-fanatic page. Every time I see a lecture now I keep imagining him breaking in saying, "Go! Go! Go! Yes! Score!" Or something to that effect. It just ruins the lectures. It's like every time I hear the name Jimmy Swaggart I think of his problem with prostitutes. (Not comparing prostitutes with sports..... just saying I now associate these people with their vice/ addiction.)

But yes, I agree that people like Shaykh's should be role models. I am not even opposed to watching sports (in moderation), but to see a page that contains absolutely nothing but sports fanaticism then it is disheartening to me.
