So basically now deobandis have different categories too, stirct and non strict. Interesting. I recall reading an article from Mufti mohammad ibn adam, his account of visit to the habaib of Yemen and praising them . And he mentions there that Habib Ali told him about Father of habib umar , how he was a close friend of Maulana yusuf Kandhalvi, amir of tableeghi jammat, that how he helped him in preparation for the index of his master piece hayatus Sahaba, if i remember this correctly.

So apparently, deobandis are in good terms with habaib and never have called them deviants. It would be nice if some deobandi brothers shed some light on this. That what is the stance of deobandi ulema regarding the habaibs and shaykh nazim. Cuz clearly from the account of Mufti Ibn Adam, it seems that deobandis regard habaibs as true scholors.

Regarding shaykh yaqubi, i have yet to see a deobandi label him as barelvi or deviant, but no doubt barelvis love him and he loves them too.

To me it seems like the ulema of the arab world sort of pay attention to poor neglected and ignored barelvis of india and pakistan, because their biddats of actions have gone so off limit in india pakistan that religious circles have stopped paying attention to them. so the ulema in other parts of the world probably feel sorry for them and pay attention to them. But so strange that when these barelvis are back home in india pak, their meelads/mawlids and functions are so crazy and off shariah. but when they are with habaib of yemen or other western scholors, they all of a sudden become full of adab and adherent to sunnah. and the meelads become shariah compliant. But anyways this is again all from ignorant me and my observations, i can be wrong.
