Default Personal Statement for Medical School

I'm planning to submit my application to med school in a few days inshallah. I'm working on my personal statement. Here's the prompt:

Use the space provided to explain why you want to go to medical school. The available space for your response is 5300 characters, or approximately one full page. You will receive an error message if you exceed the available space. For additional assistance, click "help" on the tool bar at the top of the screen.
I'm really not sure what to write. I don't have any special reasons for wanting to got to medical school, but I don't want to just say "I want to help people", even though that's true and I love the feeling I get when I'm able to help someone and make them feel secure. I just happen to think medicine is the best way for me to contribute to society. I'm planning to write a little bit about a physician who has inspired me, but I would like to add more. I want to have a letter that will stand out.

Anyone here who's gone through this process and can offer some tips? I'm applying in the US if that makes a difference.
