Instead of getting into polemics , i will make a case based on my claim that "Shiasm is an insult to human intellect, self respect and rational thinking , let alone being a Religion" .Shiasm lacks a central coherent theme so it makes it hard for me to pin point some of their common beliefs but Here are the basic pretensions of shiasm on which it stands.

1. The era in which Sayyedna Muhammad SWS lived was an era of turmoil and only 7 people converted to Islam. The rest of the people who spent a great deal of time with the Prophet PBUH were hypocrites.Even he could not many of his save many of his own wives who are in hell -fire now (Na'audubillah min Zalik) . The duty of cursing the companions and wives of Prophet PBUH was left to the Shias to come later.

2. Hadrat Ali ra deserved to be the Caliph and it was binding on each an every person of that time to accept him as his Imam but it did not happen. The real Islam got buried right there. While the real Islam was drowning , Hadrat Ali played the role of a silent spectator as he could have been killed if he would have opposed the hypocrites.

3.The son of Hadrat Ali ra , Hadrat Hassan ra followed his father and so gave the caliphat to Hadra Muaviya ra (Who is a heretic according to the shias)

4.However , for some strange and unexplained reasons , the other son of Hadrat Ali ra , Hadrat Hussain ra decided to go against the rules laid by his father(ie to remain silent out of fear of death) and he picked up the sword and revolted against a tyrant king. His own cousins and brother did not accompany him in this battle so they also became heretic.

5. It is binding on every Muslim to follow and obey the divinely appointed Imams of the time in every worldly and extra-wolrdly matter. The institution of Imamat was set to save the Muslims from getting deviated. However , numerous sects emerged with in shiasm due to the differences on "selection" of Imams and the Imams and sons of Imams had many troubles in between them (One wonders why would a "divinely appointed" selected?)

6.All of the sudden or say out of the blue , it was decided the the 12th Imam (WHo never existed as the 11th Imam Hassan Askari died issue-less and it can be historically proved) would get into occultation (out of the fear of death. Again rejecting the Sunnah of Hadrat Hussain Ra) and at the age of 5 , he went into a cave. For some 80 years , he kept on meeting upto 4 people ( Though , hundreds claimed that they meet him) and he appointed the 4 specific people to collect money on his behalf ( Again out of the blue). However , for some unknown reasons , the non-existing 12th Imam went into "Major occultation" ( Though people keep on claiming to having met him even now)

8. It was in the late 70s of the last century (some 1100 years after the disappearance of the non existent 12th Imam) that Khomeini was appointed as the "deputy of the 12th Imam" and following him was declared to be as binding as following the 12th Imam himself. (Inbteween , there is a Hadhir Imam as well , ie Prince Karim Agha khan who is the present Imam of Ismaili Shias). First it was about the 11+1 Imams and now Guess what ?? Congragulations !! Thats a short story of the Shias and digest it if you can. Though i personally think that it needs the gastro-intestinal tract of a whimsical , superstitious , daft , retarded and doomed "ithna Ashari shia" to digest it. Even that is not a perfect digestion and the devilish screaming one hears sometimes from these shias is the vomiting out of this same garbage which i have tried to summarize in the 8 points.
