Why do people find it so strange to believe that one day like a year was the rule of the British empire when the British empire was the super power of the world.

Then the World War took place (if you study exactly what happened and who funded the wars and the reasons why it will make sense) then during this period the power changed hands to the USA being the super power of the world - at this time Israel was created as well lets not forget this!)

The rule of the unites states as the ruling body of the world refers to one day like a month.

The one day like a week refers to the power shift to Israel as the ruling body (one could say if you look at what is going on in the middle east at the moment provisions are being made for this to happen) and then the final 40 days is when Dajjal will appear in person.
If the hadith is not literal then how would you explain why the sahaba (rd) took it to be literal hence asking the Prophet what to do regarding salaat when the 24 hour day is elongated up to a year, and how do you explain why the Prophet implied that the stretching of the day is literal by answering the sahabas (rd) query by instructing them to calculate the times of the salaat in order to observe them.

The part where the Prophet instructed the sahaba (rd) to calculate the time of salaat is enough to imply that the behaviour of time and day will be different.

Some of Moulana Imran's reasonings and conclusions go beyond ridiculous, such as his belief that when the Prophet remarked that the dajjal is in the east, then this was when dajjal was in a different dimension. The reason why he came to this conclusion is because the hadith did not fit in with his belief that the island where Tamim alDari (rd) met dajjal was Britain. So Moulana had to concoct a reason and the reason given is stated above, that when Prophet remarked dajjal is in the east it was when dajjal was in a different dimension! ajeeb!!
