The Qur'aan itself will testify about Uthman . It is said he was reading the following aayah when he was murdered.

فَإِنْ آمَنُوا بِمِثْلِ مَا آمَنْتُمْ بِهِ فَقَدِ اهْتَدَوْا وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِي شِقَاقٍ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

So if they believe as ye believe, they are indeed on the right path; but if they turn back, it is they who are in schism; but Allah will suffice thee as against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing

Yes I too have heard in a lecture about this. Also all the people involved in killing of Usman(ra) were inturn Murdered, none of them died a natural death. Allah indeed will suffice, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. ALLAHUAKBAR..!
