the hadith mentioned by yourself in the post says it all sister...the whole world can be turned upside down, the sun can stop rising, the seas can dry up...however the words of our Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam can never be worng!

So now, if it is as clear as day that a nation under the leadership of women will never prosper, i really do not see the need for a discussion on it.

As for the role of mother/wife/home maker, it is only natural that a woman takes on that role since the role of the man is as breadwinner/protector etc.....This is of course in an ideal Muslim home where each compliments the other perfectly! Sadly nowadays each person is more worried about demanding their rights than fulfilling them. May Allah ta'ala guide us on the path leading to His pleasure.

yes this hadith says much, even some scholar doubt that it was actually said by our Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam. However this hadith is about leadership of state and many wives of our Propher were encouraged to work for society. Am I right? For me as not-arabic speaking person would be also interesting to know what it means - prosper.... specially in this hadith.
It is very simple what you say and also I agree there is much demand on rights nowdays and may be not enough endeavour to fulfilling the duties. It is time to make this and that, both sides are important.
We are equal in front of Allah, and no one can take from us duties and rights, only allah, the same with right to seek for knowledge in islam.
I am not one having aspiration to rule the state. And also I accept the text sent by another brother that it is better if men rules even if woman would be smarter and more intelligent.... I think you would make angry many but not me. However the ruling by women at any level is not forbiden - still having this opinion.
