A single search will reveal that olives, pomegranates, and date-palms (obviously) have been cultivated in what is now Saudi Arabia for aeons.

These are the plants referred to in Surat al-An'am, and of course they had herds as well. Does this historian mean to have us believe that the pagans of Makkah subsisted on sand and sunlight?
