Salaams

I know of someone who was travelling the path of tasawwuf and he reached a stage whereby he would see a beautiful light while praying or sitting in his Sheikhs presence or reading the Qur'an. Eventually he lost control of his mind and all the above was lost in terms of ibaadah. He was told eventually that a Jinn had tampered with his eyes and mind. Is there any reference to such phenomenon made in the writings of the sufis.

Jazak Allah
It looks like i got a warning for "writing in large red" font which "is considered rude". I apologize to you Taalibul Islam if you considered any of my comments rude. What i was commenting on is your wording which, to me atlest, looks like you dont need Quran and Sunnah just "the writings of the sufis". Surely the deen is complete; anything to do with issuses of spirituality which is halal would have been covered in the Quran and Sunnah. Now if you are looking for something in the Quran and Sunnah surely there is not a prerequisite of being a sufi teach it, is there?
