I actually asked this question to some of the mashaikh on the path and this is the answer they gave. They gave certain circumstances of of how to tell when your sins have been removed and how to know that other things such as Jinni/Muakahils etc were messing around.

what path do you follow sufistic?

Fantastic, alhamdulillah. I'm of the Hashimi-Darqawi-Shadhili order. I know a little thing or two about the Ba'Alawi order as I used to live in Tarim for about a year.
