I hope you can understand that as I come from an atheist family, I feel evidence is important. One reason Islam appealed to me is these scientific miracles in the Qur'an, so Islam has proof as well as faith

Cool, i guess different people are drawn to Islam due to different things. Perhaps that is a miracle within itself. The ability of the Quran to attract different people from different backgrounds.
