Marco100, I was not implying/saying anything - I am genuinely curious as to what is defined as unnecessary decoration.

From my own experience, purpose built mosques tend to be beautifully & very thoughtfully decorated & I have seen many buildings converted into mosques, that looks as though the bare minimum amount of money has been spent on them – either way it does not bother me in the slightest, as I’m just grateful that Allah , has allowed me to spend some of my day in a mosque.



i wasn't implying anything brother don't get me wrong. you seem a learned person so wanted your opinion that's all.

i'm sure i heard once in a talk that Tamim-Al Dari (ra) placed a chandelier in Masjid An Nabwi. i could be wrong.
