I may not get the time to listen to the bayaan but I shall try. But any chance you can clarify my original post? Did the incident happen in the way it is generally reported to Prophet Ayub:alaihis: . Not talking about the length of time of the illness but the illness itself.

My understanding is that the illness itself was 'leprosy', and beacuse of this and small insects/ants would be able to walk over the body of Hazrat Ayub (AS) [due to their limited mobility]. When these insects would climb off the blessed body of Hazrat Ayub (AS), Hazrat Ayub (AS), would pick them up & place them on his body himself, and say, "Allah has made my body your home, where are you going" (or words to that effect....)

I should also point out that you mentioned, "the shaykh stated that a Prophet not does befit having such a illness" - true, but this illnes came about after the shaitaan said to Allah that he [Hazrat Ayub (AS)], is only steadfast in your worship, because he has everything he needs in this world, (ie, Hazrat Ayub (AS) has faced/is facing no difficulties so why should he not worship you - he is so blessed, it's obvious he will do your abadat)

To this, Allah replies that Hazrat Ayub (AS) is a true and firm believer, and will continue to worship me, even in hardship & allows shaitaan to test Hazrat Ayub (AS) to prove the point....

The illness itself was then initiated 'by the shaitaan', (through the power of Allah (SWT), of course)

Brother, I do no justice to the events in my post, and ask Allah to forgive me if I have not been able to give you all the necessary, 100% information...Read the tafseer of Surah Ambiya, and/or listen to the bayaan....

This, alongside the other stories of Prophets in the Quran, I find truly amazing...
