Bismi'Llah
As-salamu ´alaykum wa rahmatu'Llah,
The first time that I met my murshid, I was so nervous and shy. But al-hamdu li 'Llah, this is good, especially if it is out of humbleness, due to our lowly status compared to these great men of Allah. I remember barely being able to speak when they (hafizhahu'Llah) addressed me, this is despite the fact that we had already corresponded through email (and possibly phone) prior to our physical meeting. It was not that I had not met shuyukh prior to this, I had met plenty. But the Noor emanating from them was overwhelming.
Insha'Allah you will do well sidi, don't worry. Chances are that the shaykh and the other murids are aware of you being new, and will most likely (I shall surely hope so) be lenient and compassionate, while possibly correcting any ill-mannered behaviour on your part nicely in private.
Don't worry, for this is not a day of worry sidi, but a day of joy insha'Allah.
wassalam
