This is an example of having bad thoughts (سوء الظن) about your fellow Muslim. I'm your brother in Islam, whether you know me or not, and you shouldn't have bad thoughts about your brother in Islam. It is forbidden to do so. What makes me any different from any other Muslim who sells a book? Is selling books forbidden? Did you tell me that you couldn't afford $10 for the e-book and I refused to send it to you for free - fi sabeel Allah? If you tell me that you can't afford the book, but would really like a copy, I will believe you and NOT call you a liar because I have no reason to believe that you are a liar and I will send you a copy for free - fi sabeel Allah. But please, don't have bad thoughts about me.
