see if you can get a hold of sh Hussain Abdul Sattar in Chicago. He is a mureed and khalifa of Sh Zulfiqar (db) . He has completed his aalim course ( when he was in teens I believe) but he is doing med school and I believe running an aalim course for professionals. So his situation is sort of similar, teach deen and learn western schooling. Yours is learn both. Maybe he may give you beneficial advice as it would be a case of "been there done that". IMHO.
