.....there was something that brother Dr Ati mentioned on the other thread about pathans being one of the lost tribes of Israel and therefore they cannot be Syed.....I asked a pathan today and he told me that he does not know about pathans being from the bani Israel..however he told me there is a centuries old rule in the pathans that if a person from another nation comes to live with them and continues to do so for 35 years, staying put in times of happiness and misfortune, they induct him into the tribe, so that can be one reason why Syeds are found in pathans....Just posted this here because we might end up accusing some people of distorting their lineage which is a major sin.....So it is good to have a possible explanation for the paradox
