Wouldnt it make sense to sit down with a learned scholar and ask him these questions, especially considering that these questions are controversial?

Well this is a very important issue and to me it actually sounds quite straight forward and it should be something that all muslims should know.

Pretty much every response in this topic has given the classical Islamic view but I really want to know how the other side answers those questions. I want to go back to that brother who told me that Allah sits on a throne in the heaven and ask him to answer the questions but I fear that he will accuse me of using reason instead of describing Allah like he has described himself. I might as well give it a go and see how he responds.
