Al-Walāʾ wal-Barāʾ is a key concept of Islām which is found in the Qurʿān and Ḥadīth.

For example look at verse 51 of Sūrat al-Māʾidah:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Also read Sūrat al-Mumtahinah, which is the 60th chapter of the Qurʾān.

Shaykh Saʿīd al-Qaḥṭānī (HA), a Ḥanbalī scholar, wrote a very good book on this concept and in there you will also find many references etc.. Also have a look at Shaykh Dr. Wasīm Fatḥullāh's book on the subject, which I attached to this post.

Beware of those who try to brandish this concept as un-Islamic or similar, for it is found in the Qurʾān and Ḥadīth!
