Assalaamu 'Alaikum

I just started using Miswak this week Alhamdulillah (they are difficult to get a hold of in Canada unless you order online) and I notice that whenever I use it, I get a sore throat. I will start using it, and within minutes my throat feels very rough and en-flamed, lasting for several hours.

I googled it and came up with nothing, so I wonder if maybe I am allergic, or perhaps I need a new Miswak, or is this just the acid doing its job(ie nothing to worry about)?

Anyone have a similar experience?
