slaam !
i wanted to ask if i miss maghrib, am i allowed to pray it all the way up till isha ?
for example. if maghrib is at 7.30 but im outdoor and unable to pray it and isha is at 9.10...will i be still be able to pray maghrib even though its dark outside and close to isha (lets say i get home at 9.00 and to pray it then)
or will i have to do qada at isha time

also iv notices prayer time tables differ...and some of them have isha early than others. i usually follow the one which has isha the latest to be on the safe side. which do you follow ?

I had the same question recently and in Dubai we have the opportunity to ask by email any fatwa request to the Islamic Department of Dubai. Please see below the answer i get from them on this matter. Please note also that in some countries the time of isha mentioned in the prayer time table is by convention 90 minutes after maghrib, even if isha time would have in practice started earlier.

The answer, and with Allah is the guidance for success:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Assalamou aalaikom wa rahmatou Allah wa barakatouHou

Dear brother/sister,

We pray that Allah guide us to t he truth and what He loves. Amen.

As mentioned in the Hadeeths, the duration of Maghreb Salaah is from sunset till the disappearance of the red twilight or afterglow (approximately between forty five minutes to one hour and fifteen minutes after sunset).

Maghrib can be prayed at any time before the disappearance of the red twilight. Not the blue or white lights.

If you could not perform the Salaah on time, you make the intention of Qadhaa [settlement or makeup for the missed Salaah].
However, there is no harm if you made the intention of a normal Adaa [performing Salaah on time] or you made a mistake in the intention between Qadhaa and Adaa.

The intention of performing the Salaah as Adaa or Qadha does not affect the actual Salaah if it was not the correct intention.
