Asalaamu alaikum, brothers and sisters.

I was wondering what the most common misconceptions about Islam you hear are. And how do you handle them? Sometimes, as a new revert, I have a lot of trouble refuting the nasty things people say to me because I don't have enough knowledge to do it right and my emotions at the moment can make it worse, astaghfirallah.

And on a lighter note- what's the funniest thing you've heard regarding your faith (especially if you live in a Western country)?
Something you will be needing a lot is Patience, patience and more patience. If you trust Allah no matter what happens, you will have patience. About answering queries, only answer the ones you are sure of, or else keep silent and say you are in the learning process.

Here is a Dua(prayer) for increasing patience from the Quran:

If you are still learning arabic here is the video with recitation.

May Allah guide all of us in the right path, and bless us with abundant patience.
Ameen.
