Is it really allowed in Islam to send a woman to learn from male teachers where
proper veils are not maintained ? I am curious.

As far as I know, in a woman-only madrasah, the teachers teach the girls while staying behind proper veils . But such segregation can not be seen in Western universities.

What about your uni ? How do you maintain proper Islamic way of learning in a co-educational uni ?
The same could be asked of men too...is it allowed for men to attend universities where corruption is strife and it is difficult for them to keep their gaze lowered? The situation is difficult...

At the end of the day, it depends on how strong minded the individual is, if their intention is sincere and they are there just for the sake of education then Allah will help them and make it easy for them. If they remain focussed then they'll achieve what they want too.

We need Muslim women who are religious and who are also educated, because currently we have a handful of modern Muslimahs representing the wider Muslim women and these are the people who are given a say by the media too.
