then again even in europe turkey cannot compete with the likes of germany. in NATO of course we have US. turkey is part of the same global system. there is nothing special about it.

As for the comparisations with germany, maybe not now but in a few years. The goals of turkey for 2023 is to be among the 10 largest economies. Turkey is already playing an important role in the midle east.
