Juneja, brain power and dhikr may be enough with only certain type of magic.

However, you have to understand that magic is a reality and there are varying degrees of potency. If it is extremely powerful dark magic, it's not as easy as you are assuming. Magic can be cast that sends a person to his death, or makes him want to kill himself, if not go insane.

Think of this analogy. If a person is locked up in a room made of cardboard walls, he can use his arms and legs to break out. However, if the walls are made of concrete, it's going to take a lot more than just his physical body. Likewise with magic, if it is flimsy, it can be reduced and gotten rid of relatively easily but if it is powerful, extra help is needed.

Though, I do not deny that if the conviction and connection of an individual with Allah is extremely powerful, all types of magic can be defeated (with perseverence) but not everybody has that kind of connection.
