I'm not sure, as I don't live in Chicago, but even if he doesn't have an official position, he is well respected in Tablighi circles. I don't know about any German connections. Maybe some of the Chicago guys can tell.

Mufti sahib has a really deep understanding of deen , all the aspects on it. If you've (not True Life, but you in general) been on SF for too long and have all these ashkalaat on tabligh, go sit with him for a day and learn from him. , you'll learn a lot.

Not only that, but you should see how he answers fiqhi questions. , he is such a great faqih, I think even the 'ulama can greatly benefit from him. In fact, one alim was saying that Mufti sahib had a bayaan for ulama in India. It was in a four-story building, and it was all full!

At the same time, he is the Shaykh-ul-Hadeeth at DU-Chicago. He is also well-versed in economics, etc.

He recieved khilafah from his father at the age of 20, and then later from Doctor Tanveer sahib.

Once Mufti sahib told us that after studying for 13 years, Hadhrat Jalalbadi told him upon graduation that this does not mean that you are a 'aalim, but you have the capability of becoming a 'aalim (you can read Arabic).

Mufti sahib is truly a great man , may Allah use us also for His Deen.

[Sorry, for hi-jacking the thread.]

It's no big deal, relax : )

It's totally not hijacking. Hijacking is when people turn the thread into completely something different with useless, spiritually-lacking discussions about issues they do not understand.

They should instead speak to Mufti sahib about those issues : ) They'll be enlightened (if they're sincere).
