Maybe GP's seem keen to diagnose depression.

When you described how you were in the last thread, I thought you've always been like that, but you'll know better.

Seriously ask whether you need medication first. The wait for whoever your being referred to might be a bit of a long one, but unless things have gone downhill, it hold off the medication and wait to see if the problem can be identified. That is unless you think you'll be able to get yourself off the medication without a problem. I'm not doctor of course, but the reason I say it is because anyone I know who's taken anti-depressants ends up on them for ages with no attempt from doctors or whoever to get them off. That doesn't mean that's always the case though.
