This isn't as much fun as I thought it would be. I mean, I knew this list was crap when I first saw it, so why did I take the bait? Why did I think that fighting myth with fact would make a difference? If someone is simple minded enough, or wrapped so tight in their ideology, that they believe anything on this BS list, then is it even possible to crack open their skulls enough to sway them by truth? Probably not, because they don't want truth. Nobody does these days. We just want to be the one who shouts the loudest, regardless of whether what we say has any basis in reality. It makes me want to puke.

I guess I'll go forward anyway. It won't make a difference to any of you but it might help me get this bad taste out of my mouth.

"Obama’s Justice Department is there for Obama and team and not for true American Justice"

The mission statement for the DOJ is: To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.

There are 58 agencies that fall under the umbrella of the DOJ, they include biggies like the ATF, DEA, FBI but they are also charged with guaranteeing fair credit, protecting the right to vote, litigating on behalf of the environment, running our prison system, defending civil rights ... the list goes on and on and, of course, each agency has its own baby agency-ettes underneath them. At first glance it seems silly to suggest that ALL of these thousands of bureaucrats serve only to support the Obama administration's whims but, really, in a way, they do. Because the DOJ has its fingers in almost everything, they have the opportunity to shape the ways our law is interpreted across broad sweeps of policy. That's true for the Obama administration but it was true for previous administrations too. It's one of the big reasons why the office of President is so important and why each of us should be careful in deciding how to spend our vote this fall.
