So my question is if the Supreme Court says forcing the people to buy health insurance is unconstitutional does that mean forcing the people to buy any other kind of insurance is unconstitutional?
The Supreme Court will be ruling on the Constitutional authority of Congress to enact this legislation. They will not be ruling on the legal authority of a State Legislature to impose that requirement on it's citizens. Because a law is not valid as a Federal law, does not mean that that same law would be invalid in any State that passed it. In fact a law that was passed in every single state it could be valid in all states, yet be unconstitutional as Federal law. A State, (via the 14th Amendment), cannot pass a law a law countermanding a valid Federal Law. However they can pass many laws that are not governed by the US Constitution or Federal code.
