Crain's Ny Company Sept 21, 2005 Tiffany sinks Frank Gehry to create jewelry by Catherine Tymkiw Tiffany & Co. signed a contract with architect Frank Gehry to create a unique jewelry selection, making him the very first custom employed by the jewelry store in 25 years. Separate jewelry collections will be created six by the architect, whose buildings include the Guggenheim Museum in Bibao, Spain, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, underneath the Gehry Collection title, with the very first debuting in April. Mr. Gehry, who'll use precious materials, rocks and timber, will also design an array of tabletop products. He ties a little contingent of developers employed by Tiffany since its beginning. Paloma Picasso, the newest employ before Mr. Gehry, started creating Tiffany jewelry in 1980. Elsa Peretti joined in 1974 and the artist Jean Schlumberger was employed in 1956. Conditions of the offer with Mr. Gehry weren't revealed. The selection will introduction at Tiffany shops in the U.S. and Japan -- the retailer's two important areas.
