Just 47 years of age. Slipped dead after playing baseball at an exercise center. The thing I recall about "The Hammer" was his good relationship with Charles Barkley. Even though it isn't like he was Charles Shackleford or anything, he was treated by charles fairly defectively. Gilliam was quite a strong person.
