My personal favorite currently is:

Great Akira Kurosawa manuscript done by his crew after his death. It has the depth of Akira Kurosawa's movies without his preachyness.

Also, features Mugai Ryu Iai and chreography by Otake sensei of TSKSR.

For simple action, the best sword work I've seen in English is actually called "The Equals" or "The Challenge" or "The Sword of the Ninja (TV edition)" starring Scott Glenn and Mifune. The chreography was actually done by Steven Seagul...shows the quality of his earlier works, much like Above the Law or Hard to Kill...unlike his "later" stuff.
