yojimbo and sanjuro are pinnacle of ronin samurai movies. kurosawa is the best, no question.

samurai fiction is a cool modern samurai movie. not to be taken seriously, but its got cool shots.

twilight samurai was also a great modern samurai movie. very serious, interesting perspective into samurai life.
