Well, it depends on how you take it. From my current perspective, the more Hollywood-esque Hollywood Exposure modern kendo gets -- the more the spirit and quality of kendo will degrade due to the delusionary ideas and preconceptions that would inevitably arise from it and be instilled into the minds of the public. On the other hand, if actual legitimate kendo were portrayed in a realistic way in a good movie (and my guess is that this won't happen due to the entertainment industry's rabid urge for fast, cheap publicity), then the blow would be significantly lessened and we could all fall asleep knowing that real kendo won't become an endangered species for the present moment.

So essentially, I think that it is important for the collective crew of (insert movie containing some form or portrayal of kendo here) to assume the responsibility of making the distinction between kendo as it is practiced now and pre-war killing kendo/kenjutsu or fictional kendo understood by the audiences of their work, so that for example when someone decides to join a dojo to practice kendo, they are able to and do understand the differences between modern kendo as compared to depicted kendo (if there are any, and assumedly there will be) and ultimately between reality as it is and reality as is made "fictional". It might sound strange to some, but what with all of the forms of synthesized reality and artificial fillers for what is, this "border" between perceived reality and perceived fiction is becoming more and more blurred as unawareness grows.

This guy had a White Bogu set.. and he's fighting like 6 other guys surrounding him..

Maybe they fighting like pre-war era Kendo.. so guess No rules.. hit anywhere u want.

Understandable..
On a lighter note, I could be taking this all too seriously

All in all, let's hope and try for the best
