Well, I think getting a ride on your own to the dojo doesn't hurt any family relationship since he said he doesn't want to practice kendo anymore. I wouldn't give a damn if he's "mad" at you coz he's a numbskull. If his parents mad at you, explain to them the situation coz you know your cousin will tell them a different story. Just tell them his schedule "conflicts" with yours, so you're getting a ride on your own. If I were you I'll start looking for maybe a bus that goes to that area and walk to the dojo for the rest.
