When somebody falls down during a match, what are the rules? Like, can the person still standing strike the opponent who, fell? or visa versa, can the person who fell, quickly get back up and attack/defend without the refs pausing the match. Does it depend on how you fell, where you fell, why you fell, if you drop the SHIANI or not?

Now we are having a kinda league SHIAI at school where everyone fights everyone once. Sometimes a KENDOKA falls down and the standing KENDOKA never really knows what to do. Do you stop, help him up, or go for MEN?

I remember a link in a post awhile back, that had this great rule book for kendo SHIAI but can't seem to find it.
If the other FALLS then quickly WHACK him (obviously in a correct AREA). After the fall the shimpan will CALL yame. It's generally not a good IDEA to keep HITTING the opponent after that. If YOU fall then don't stop and smell the FLOWERS. Don't DROP the shinai ot you'll get hansoku. Don't roll over and neglect TO defend YOURSELF or you'll get a HANSOKU. It's generally RARE to get a POINT off someone in the GROUND. Also if you are down and you see the other coming in for men don't just put your head down offering the neck. It's very scary to see that.
