Well m&a has certainly been spreading *something* around since 1876...
Kenwakokoro correctly posits the argument that it's good to support teams within our conference (he and I are both UT graduates and I was 5-year member of the Longhorn Band), but Drizzt, I can understand your feeling; it also doesn't feel right to me to pull for m&a either. I think there are enough of y'all out there practicing your yells to take care of that.
If you ags can be patient with Franchione though, better days will come. He's won everywhere he's been and he's definitely got the tools there. When you get a little older your perspective on the rivalry will relax a little (despite what they tell you in fish camp) and you can enjoy it for what it is. A strong rivalry is a fun thing, and may you enjoy many 10-1 seasons.
As for *this*season, we'll soon see. Hook'em or die...
