Pregnant women with Covid-19 have significantly worse outcomes for the pregnancy itself and the coronavirus infection. By mutually complicating each other, they increase the risk of maternal mortality by order of magnitude. However, being pregnant during a pandemic is not a reason to panic. The vast majority of women will have normal, healthy births, whether or not they have been infected with the coronavirus.
