I've seen my dad practice several times and thought it was pretty cool. Besides, there are so many practitioners of 'taekwondo' , 'karate', and various martial arts and I wanted something unique.

Besides, how often does a girl get an opportunity to swing a big stick around boys and smack them on their head?

(although I still have few more weeks before I get to use shinai).
