If you're still looking for a nice place to visit, you should go to the Kanaya Onsen in Shimoda. It has a senninburo (1000 person bath) that is quite large and quite nice. They have separate baths for women, and the women can join the men in the main bath and outdoor rotenburo if they want to as well. My family came and we stayed there for Christmas. It was my 3rd time to stay there and I love the layout of the place. It's very unique, and the seafood (sashimi) is very nice. It is a bit pricey, but worth it.
