So my first tsuki was impaling myself on my friend's shinai and I discovered it doesn't hurt!

Tee, Hee, I've only recently started wearing Bogu too. My first experience of a 'tsuki type' hit was exactly the same - Yes, I walked staright onto my sparring partners shinai too.

It didn't hurt, BUT it phazed us completely for a couple of seconds!
