Damn. Can't wait to start tsuki. At least kendo can make you look like you get mad-ladies because of it.

You most likely first have to learn the receiving side which will mean you'll receive some missers too which can be rather painfull.

The advantage of a missed tsuki is having an extra carefull sempai, so you can abuse this advantage if you're not having too much pain
