There's also the American version: If there's grass on the green, it's O.K. to putt. A Kendo friend of mine mentioned that once and then a few days later we were at a Chinese restaurant after practice and he turned to a 15 year old girl and asked (teapot in hand), "coffee, tea, or me?" Wrong. So wrong.
i thought the american version was: "if there's grass on the field, play ball". at least that's how i've heard it somewhere....
