I don't think gun ownership has anything to do with crime. It's like saying soap ownership leads to regular bathing and we know that is not true.

Plus news about crime with guns gets more attention. It's sensationalism. Most crimes with guns are commited with stolen or smuggled in guns. Not responsible gun owners who legally obtain their firearms.
