The point I was trying to make was, if we had an outright handgun ban(or any gun for that matter), then violence (or gun violence for that matter) will not be abolished. It would be less in cities with less crime, but in crime ridden communities like Richmond, CA, Oakland, CA, Watts district of LA, that would probably have an adverse effect and invite more crime. Plus handguns can be smuggled in from anywhere.
