Hi folks! Hope this is the right place to ask. Only forum I'm on with European participation. Anyone hear if there are still any BSE (Mad Cow) issues in France? I might be there this October, and was wondering if the beef would be OK to consume. From what I understand, dairy is OK. Hope for some help. Thanks all!
Some friendly advice ChaShu... avoid the beef in France. It will only be disappointing compared to the stuff in Canada (in terms of steak). However, the cooking is much better in France which sometimes makes up for the relatively poor quality of the meat (boeuf bourguignon is a good example).

But on the whole, North American beef is much better qulaity then what they get in Europe, and incredibly cheaper.

By the way, I will also be in France in October and at this point I will be bringing my bogu.
