More a case of nice shooting with the first video.
Bullets, even fully jacketed rounds will split and fragment upon impact with virtually anything. I have seen pictures of rounds lodged inside people where the jacket has stripped away on impact with flesh and gone one way and the core has hit bone before fragmenting and going off in different directions without breaking the bone.
I agree that the smith must be knocking these swords out ten to the dozen as shooting them will at best ruin the edge and at worst snap the blade. These videos must have put this guys sales through the roof though, so fair play to him. Oh and they are quite fun to watch when there is nowt on the telly.
