Is this a Kendo or a Kumdo dojo you're going to? From my experience kumdo dojang tend to be a little more expensive (and by a little, I mean a heck of alot)
I cannot comment on the observation since I don't have much experience with it my self. I will say that he seems to be teaching Japanese arts exclusively. What’s not made clear is if he teaches all of these arts or if he has different instructors for each art.
